DIABOLIK “Colpo alla Rinascente”, Milano

Going for a walk around Milan, in the Piazza Duomo area, we accidentally came across two wonderful vintage Jaguars, in front of the windows of la Rinascente and of course we took some photos of these two icons on four wheels.

La Rinascente pays homage to Diabolik for his 60s. To celebrate his birthday, an illustrated book in 365,000 copies and an in-store event.
One (Diabolik) is the longest-lived villain in the history of Italian comic noir; the other (la Rinascente) the iconic department store founded in 1865 in Milan.

These two wonderful cars were in support of the event because the Jaguar type E is Diabolik's car.

“We had planned to do something beautiful and striking and we did it.
We were looking for some ideas, and when the proposal from Rinascente arrived it was logical that we were enthusiastic: the store is a symbol of Milan, as is Diabolik. Probably when the Giussani sisters created Diabolik, in 1962, they would never have imagined that we would have celebrated his sixtieth birthday. But, being Milanese Doc , they would certainly have appreciated that the celebrations were celebrated in an emblematic place of their city such as la Rinascente“(Mario Gomboli, director of the Astorina publishing house).
