AXOLIGHT - Euroluce 2023

Another brand visited at Euroluce 2023, we were very impressed by the structure of the stand (made by Studio Milo) and by the original illustrations on the walls (made by Marta Lonardi), depicting scenes of common life and that well highlighted the production of Axolight.
Below you will find a brief history of the brand and our photos, each with a small caption describing every single piece.
We thank the Axolight staff for the courtesy and material provided to us.

Axolight “Bul-Bo” by Gabetti e Isola

The “Bul-Bo” lamp belongs to the series of furnishings designed for the Olivetti Residential Center in Ivrea (Turin) by the architectural firm Gabetti & Isola (Roberto Gabetti, Aimaro Isola, Guido Drocco, Luciano Re) between 1968 and 1971. The context in which the designers worked was still strongly influenced by the enlightened mind of Adriano Olivetti, who died a few years earlier.
With the creation of “Bul-Bo” a playful, ironic and functional lamp was created, in perfect adherence to that climate of “rebellion to the schemes” that, in the second half of the 60s of the twentieth century, would have left an indelible imprint on the costumes.
50 years later, Axolight re-proposes this iconic lighting object by introducing contemporary elements in the philological respect of the original design.

Axolight “Bell” by Manuel e Vanessa Vivian
“Bell”, in its pendant version, reinterprets the dome shape in an original way. Despite its important volume, the soft lines and the lightness of the fabric make Bell a lamp that does not burden the environment. Thanks to its chromatic and dimensional variations, “Bell” fits different styles and projects, personalizing any space. “Bell” brings together an important aesthetic identity, excellent lighting performance and acoustic properties in one. Its pongé fabric, in fact, thanks to its texture, is both flame-retardant and acoustic. Its Equivalent Sound Absorbing Area up to 4.63, allows Bell to reduce the noise as far as 59%.
“Bell” was awarded the “Elle Deco International Design Awards 2010” in the category Lighting.

Axolight “Salina” by Francesca De Giorgi

“Salina” is a lamp that flies: light and essential, linear and soft, it is a large geometry that remains in mid-air, lights up and gathers under its flaps.
It is created from a square of fabric folded in the corners by 4 pinces which give it the concave shape.
The fabric is one moment tense, one moment free in a balance of straight lines and curves that make it move, a play of shadows and light that paint it like a watercolor.
The suspension lamps of the “Salina” collection: a) can be used indoors, in spaces with a high degree of humidity (such as bathrooms or SPA) and outdoors (porches, loggias, terraces, gardens); b) are equipped with Dim to Warm technology, i.e. it will be possible to decrease the luminous flux by varying the color temperature of the LED at the same rate towards a warmer tone.

Axolight “Paralela” by Nahtrang Studio

“Paralela”, a modular system designed by the Spanish Nahtrang Studio, stemmed from a quest to lend shape to light so that the light itself becomes a tangible decorative luminous element. Hence the idea of creating light-filled borosilicate glass cylinders – joined to one another by metal connectors – that use gravity to occupy space in an orderly manner, entering into a visual dialog that becomes a symphony of light. This is a complete and new product family, available in both horizontal and vertical pendant version, table lamp, floor lamp and sconce, in different sizes and four colors: desert white, greige, earth red, intense black.
