MARCO LODOLA
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the neon works of MARCO LODOLA.
A touch of bright art during the last Milan Design Week.
To celebrate the event of the movie (Marvel Studios) “Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3”, and also the Milan Design Week, the Italian artist MARCOLODOLA has created six luminous sculptures, inspired by the third and final episode of the Guardians of the Galaxy saga directed by James Gunn.
The original neon creations, which show the logo and the main characters of the movie –Peter Quill, Drax, Groot, Rocket, Nebula and Mantis– made the facade of the ‘Robertaebasta’ art gallery in via Fiori Chiari 3, in the center of Brera, in conjunction with Milan Design Week shine.

They are pop works that tell of a multifaceted and bright universe,” said artist MARCO LODOLA. An irreverent saga that does not forget, however, the iconicity of mother and hero scenes, on the contrary, transforms a 'pile' that seems badly assorted into a group of heroes.
An eccentric world, full of colors, made of a paste that has the irony of post-modern cinema and follows the rhythm of a soundtrack that becomes the protagonist. The music is physical, guarded in the protagonist's walkman, and releases strength and light almost as much as the images. A mix (tape) that has always characterized my work”.

MARCO LODOLA is one of the founders of the artistic current that takes the name of Nuovo Futurismo.
Since 1983 he has exhibited in major Italian and European cities such as Roma, Milano, Firenze, Vienna, Lyon, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam.
In making his luminous sculptures, MARCO LODOLA is inspired by the lights of metropolises around the world.
These cities owe much of their beauty to the thousands of lights that illuminate them and the images that characterize them. Among the artist's most iconic subjects we find the couple in Vespa, the 500, the couples of lovers and the Pin Up.

MARCO LODOLA loves to install his sculptures in public and urban places where everyone can admire his works at all times.
According to MARCO LODOLA, their light, which breaks the darkness, makes people feel less alone and quieter thanks to the comforting presence of the light emanating from the sculptures (thanks to the press office).
