THE PLATTERS, THE DRIFTERS and THE COASTERS

THE PLATTERS, THE DRIFTERS and THE COASTERS - Gabriella Ruggieri & partners

A unique Christmas show feat. 3 of the most celebrated bands of all time: THE PLATTERS (Rock n Roll Hall of Fame), THE DRIFTERS and THE  COASTERS.

I had the honor to play drums and percussion for this incredible line up, held on Sunday, December 11th at the Mohegan Sun Arena, easily one of the largest venues in New England.

Bruno Mars and Sting are among the other artists performing there to celebrate the Arena 20th anniversary.

It was a 2 hours non stop concert in front of thousands of enthusiastic music lovers, always singing along and clapping to classics such as "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", "Charlie Brown", "Stand by me", "Only You" and many more.

"Down in Mexico" by THE COASTERS, appears on the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof". Oldies? Goodies for sure!

THE PLATTERS and THE DRIFTERS

THE PLATTERS and THE DRIFTERS - Gabriella Ruggieri & partners

Evening Performance at The 3rd Annual Ottauquechee Music Festival, Vermont, on Saturday, August 6th, 2016.

A great evening of music featuring legendary THE PLATTERS (Hits include Only You, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, My Prayer, The Great Pretender) and THE DRIFTERS (On Broadway, Stand by Me, Under The Boardwalk).

The show was held at the spectacular The Quechee Club sky area where a large audience of all ages gathered together for a night of great music.

THE PLATTERS (Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame members) opened the show with a solid 60 minutes set of music from their classic hits to those of the many bands they have influenced over 6 decades.

4 voices, one sound and a very visual and articulate concert enhanced by elegance, eloquence and style.

Sergio Bellotti assisted on drums, Jeff Jacobson on Bass, Norwood Pearson-Waclawik on guitar and music director Michael Larson on Piano.

THE DRIFTERS who were next on the band stand.

Another hour of hits and vocal excursions by a quartet that got the audience involved from the very first note. One for the books and to be remembered by all of those who attended and performed.

TORINO ROCK ALL'AMATRICIANA

#torinorockallamatriciana

On Sunday, September 4th, 2016 a significant and meaningful event was held at the Cortile del Maglio in Turin, Italy: Torino Rock Amatriciana.

A music marathon to raise money for victims of the earthquake that struck the citizens of Amatrice and a few surrounding towns in central Italy.

The event, as you might be aware, was organized by Gigi Morello and Giulia Cardia of the Cultural Association GM Drum School with the sponsorship of the City of Turin and the ITALIAN RED CROSS.
Besides all the obvious legitimacy of it, due to the involvement of such important and official organizations, and full support given by given by multiple sponsors, one thing that should be emphasized is that NO ONE, and I stress that again, including the artists, and all the others that made themselves available to ensure a successful event, received a single penny. NOBODY.

There were a few things that caught my attention and I would like to share with you:
