During Milan Design Week, could we not go to the inauguration of the new Formitalia & Mirabili showroom and gallery? Absolutely not.
The new showroom of Formitalia Luxury Group and Mirabili Arte d'Abitare (more simply Formitalia and Mirabili) will be a place where they will host buyers and press from all over the world, as well as being an enchanting exhibition space, strongly contemporary, created from an old industrial warehouse and… let me tell you, I am personally moved and love it when companies invest in redevelopment, transforming a problem into a strength and returning valuable spaces to the territory, for a new culture of sustainability.
There are many new features and artists on display, which we will talk about, but today we will take into consideration JOHN RICHMOND and the new home collection born from this collaboration with Formitalia Luxury Group, which has always stood out as one of the leaders in the luxury furnishings sector, founded on Italian craftsmanship excellence, technological innovation, and the refinement of its details.
Why JOHN RICHMOND? Well for me JOHN RICHMOND has always represented the quintessential rock designer, irreverent and fun.
It is no coincidence that his clothes have been worn by absolute icons of music, such as Madonna, David Bowie, George Michael, Mick Jagger, Annie Lennox, Lady Gaga, just to name a few.
How can we forget his low-rise jeans with the irreverent writing “Rich”? Which anticipated and at the same time desecrated the logo-mania that would have swept through many other brands.
After all, his is the statement: “If I had to summarize this collection of furniture in one sentence, I would use the words with which people describe my clothes. They say I'm a rock'n'roll stylist but the term rock'n'roll is more a question of irreverent, sexy energy. Energy. This is what I put in my furnishings."
After the presentation in the Formitalia & Mirabili gallery, which ended with a party, we moved to the JOHN RICHMOND showroom in Milan.
I hope you like our photos.
Naturally, as always, we thank Bruno Baglivo (art curator for Mirabili Arte d'Abitare) perfect host for the material provided to us.
Below, for further information, we will publish the press releases of John Richmond and Formitalia.
